EOSC Innovation Centre
The EOSC Innovation Centre is hosted by a LUMEN institutional partner (or rotating series of partners) and builds on the Innovation Prototyping Labs (IPLs) methodology. It will enable and amplify new, innovative projects that bridge SSH, Mathematics, Molecular Dynamics, and Earth Systems Science, and serve as the home for the EOSC SSH Dataspace proposed by member of the EOSC Board of Directors and CERN Project Coordinator, Bob Jones. It is a Key Exploitable Result (KER) that brings together researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and public sector actors to explore practical use cases for all of LUMEN’s KERs.
Launching towards the end of the LUMEN project, the EOSC Innovation Centre addresses a critical gap in the EOSC landscape: the structured transfer of research outcomes into applied innovation. By combining cross-domain thinking, hands-on prototyping, and business development, it strengthens EOSC’s capacity for long-term impact and supports the uptake of open science results across Europe.
The Centre will utilise established business model development and evaluation tools from previous EU projects and Horizon Results Booster services to ensure validity and quality of both the business models and the Centre’s operations. Launching near the project’s end, it aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange, ensuring long-term impact and innovation beyond LUMEN.
